Sent UST to binance via polygon yesterday instead of using a dex to swap. Binance says it’ll take 20-30 days to resolve. Help 😨

Hi there. This is a long shot, but I’m desperate at this point, so I’m hoping someone smarter than me can help me figure something out

Yesterday I swapped UST to polygon via wormhole bridge so I could swap it to something not losing its peg. In a momentary lapse of judgement, I sent it to Binance instead of using a dex like quickswap. The transaction didn’t arrive because Binance currently only supports shuttle UST and not wormhole UST

Last night they announced they were suspending the switch from shuttle to wormhole until further notice

I’ve contacted 4 different reps today and they’ve all said that I have to wait 20-30 working days for the tokens to be retrieved, or wait for them to make the switch from shuttle UST to wormhole UST

Is there anything I can do, or did I royally fuck up and lose $6,000

Thank you for reading, and thank you in advance for helping if you can. Hope everyone is staying safe out there ❤️

  1. I did the same thing. I’d bet many others did too. They will have to do something about this. Really stupid on their part to not even mention this in their UI or docs

  2. Just an idea that may or may not be smart- I believe you can still take out a UST loan on anchor. I wonder if there’s a way for you to “neutralize” your UST position by shorting the same amount of UST you lost by taking out a loan for it. That way any UST movements are canceled out between your long holding and your short holding.

  3. There’s nothing you can do. You sent unsupported crypto to an address that you don’t have the keys to. The address holder has the keys and they have full control. If they tell you they’ll get to it in 20-30 days, well that’s that.
