Why do people here shit on any financial expert that talks shit about crypto, but totally adore any influencer/ actor that says some generic positive stuff about crypto?

This behavior really makes 0 sense to me. I understand that Munger is a dinosaur, honestly I understand why he’s so against crypto, since he can’t understand shit about fuck, BUT when influencers or actors say some really generic shit about crypto, such as: “In the future crypto is going to be a big player”, you all loose your shit, as if baby Jesus came down from the skies wearing the Bitcoin logo on his robe.

Why do you people even care about the opinions of these people?? It’s so obvious that they are only trying to get more clout and it works so well, all these crypto generic quotes are reposted here and people rejoice.

  2. Honestly, because nearly all the financial “experts” were completely wrong about crypto. (Not saying these YouTubers know wtf they’re talking about though)

  3. Because these “financial experts” are usually some old fuck who doesn’t know to use a computer, let alone understand anything about crypto or how blockchain technology works.

  4. Not just about crypto, this is a general phenomenon. Whenever we are evaluating the validity of a claim, we set a bar for the supporting evidence not based on sound reason but based on how closely it aligns with our existing beliefs. If we are predisposed to believe the claim we just want a plausibility argument whereas if we are predisposed to not believe the claim we demand something closer to an irrefutable proof.

Add arrogance (high confidence suffices) about your own abilities and you have the behavior that you are referring to.

  5. When the financial expert is knocking on deaths door and probably hasn’t figured out a smart phone yet, iiiiiii don’t know, little bit skeptical about their advice on emerging commerce and technology.

‘Confirmation bias’ is the tendency to search for, interpret, favor, and recall information in a way that confirms or supports one’s prior beliefs or values.

So, everyone ignores the economists and experienced investors and listens to some dick who just confirms what you want to believe.

‘belief’ has no place in investing, religion yes, investing no……

  7. This is crypto, I rely on my own mind to make decisions, people need to learn what decentralization means and stop licking the boots of their “betters”.

This isnt a new idea, watch the Life Of Brian FFS!

  8. Because these “financial experts” are boot lickers to the status quo and big banks. They mostly talk out of their ass to inflate their egomaniacal complex.

  9. Mangers opinion is it is a venereal disease. He’s giving his opinion on it to millions of people that trust him. His opinion is clearly not well thought out, nuanced, or based out of knowledge. It’s irresponsible as fuck giving people investing advice about assets you have ZERO understanding of. My mom groks Bitcoin better than that dinosaur.

Now if you could find a negative opinion from someone who actually knows their shit, most of us would actually be interested, as we want to see the bear cases.
