When stock related community will stop bashing crypto?

I have been in many communities on different platforms, but I haven’t seen more toxic communities than the stock people. I’m not saying all stock investors are toxic and don’t understand crypto, although I have seen many people who invest in both assets.

**Why am I saying all this?**

All thanks to the pandemic, I began my investing journey in 2020! I was hunting for a community where I could learn about “what is investing and how to invest”. For this, I joined a community on Reddit and learned a lot. After a few months, when a bull run took place in crypto, they started saying things against it, which I USED TO IGNORE, but with time they became so toxic that if you try to tell them about the crypto, they start bullying people.

*The funny part is they have a crypto discussion section on every social media platform.*

**It became so toxic that I had to leave.**

  1. I’m sure there is a good proverb for this, but you can’t teach someone something they don’t want to learn. Realistically, we’d get angry if people started talking about a different investment vehicle in this sub. People are generally toxic towards things they don’t understand and that’s just another example of it

When mass adoption happens and they realize they fucked up big time.

  3. Kinda like how crypto communities bash gold/silver?

I have no empathy. Because the same ppl complaining about their preferred investment being dunked on turn around and do the exact same thing to others.

  4. Many people who invest in stocks have dipped their toes in crypto already and most likely have some kind of crypto holdings.

All those who are toxic are jealous that they didn’t buy in earlier and missed a good opportunity. Or they bought in near ATH due to fomo and are down while bag holding.

Still, it’s early for crypto and if you think very long term, it’s still a good price point to get in now. You just have to set some goals with a timeline and use good investment strategies to come out on top. Also, don’t invest emotionally, that will be your downfall.

  5. Some already did, some will do it someday and some people will never change. Already many stock investors are in crypto, I know few in our sub.

Also I am myself WallstreetBets sub member too, so I part of both crypto and stock communities. But to be true I was first in crypto and I am much more crypto than stock guy, so I am not biased agaist crypto.

Hopefully more stock investors will get into crypto. If even some dinosaurs of stocks, old, rich investors that were in stocks before invention of internet or even before moon flight can change their opinion about crypto there is probably hope for almost all of them. Some will hate crypto forever, but that’s just life, we can’t force people to change opinions.

  6. If I’ve learned anything around here it’s that anyone will hate on anyone making more profitable investments than them.

  7. Let them have their own opinions. Calling crypto a risky asset is okay because it is factual meanwhile calling it “not good at all” is subjective. We investors have different risk appetite. Just ignore these if you can’t then don’t be bothered. It’s simple.

  8. It’s really hard to have a discussion with anyone online when financial interests are involved. For the most part in my experience (as an avid lurker) everyone vehemently defends their positions and looks down at others with a different position. It can be really annoying for trying to have a genuine logical conversation that could be educational for everyone, but it’s pretty common in stock forums and in this subreddit too. If they’ve already done their research (whatever that entails) on their stock their going to assume it’s a better investment than the crypto you’re talking about, and generally vice versa. But it is an interesting point, I mean I get crypto is different from stocks in a lot of ways, but at the same time they’re both investments, you’d think there would be more interconnected discussion. A wombo combo subreddit that combines both could be nice I guess. But then here you’d get plenty of people that say stocks are dumb to invest in and are all crypto. Im also mostly in that boat tho haha

  9. Well, to be fair: crypto people hate other crypto people too

Look at this sub for example, it is very rampant to hate on crypto that you don’t own.

  10. Haters gonna hate unfortunately. It doesn’t mean we’re doomed. It means the majority of people don’t understand crypto.

  11. Never. Stonk bois on the internet think they’re all Jordan belfort and have it all figured out, crypto is just a scam lol.

  12. Why do people ignore the network, the decentralisation, the security etc as inherit value?
Not everything woth value is as tangible as a baf of gold.

  13. it’s a;ways cause they don’t make as much. a crypto pump can happen and be massive, like what i’m expecting from $must now. and then all stocks do is move 10% in 1 year, and then the drop can be up to 7% which basically is canceling off all profits.

  14. Be grateful. You want to be among the first people to understand the true value of an undervalued asset, not among the last. This applies to anything and everything, not necessarily to crypto.

Having said that, the work of many artists was not appreciated in their lifetimes. You should be aware of that too.

  15. You have to remember 99% of the people are laggards and will follow whatever is told to them.

I have seen the sub r/investing evolving over last 5 years and these people cannot get their heads around a new concept because they are trained monkeys and anything new they cannot accept.

This is actually why 1% amass wealth.
Keep your head down and keep learning and keep making money.

On a completely unrelated note please buy ADA so that I can get the fuck out of it after it pumps.
