What’s the most ridiculous reason you’ve heard/read for the market being up or down?

I think sometimes we look too hard into why something may happen, has happened or is currently happening; often correlations are made which seem logical on the surface but on repeat events move the market in the opposite way or not at all, undoing much of the belief in their apparent effect. There are a great many connections, leaps and just general shot in the dark headlines and opinions posted here. Some speculation you can see the reasoning behind, other forms just leave you wondering who the hell their dealer is. What is the most ridiculous of these you’ve come across?

  1. I remember someone once hacked wallmarts twitter account and said they’d be accepting litecoin, I’m assuming tons of money was made.

  3. There are whales sitting around some Illuminati style table figuring out how to best manipulate us this month and take our money. They put their finger on the pulse of what we are expecting to happen, and move the market the other way. Seems legit really.

  4. War. I know it looks bad when Russia Ukraine tensions are high and now they’ve eased it’s pumped. However, if you look at the market (not crypto although it seems to be mirroring each other) stocks actually boomed during wartime for the US at least, especially military contracts and weapons manufacturers. Historically war is apparently good for stable growth once it starts though, not during the uncertain time where volatility is crazy. TLDR: buy and hodl we’ll recover
