Understanding the logic behind informing others a coin is going to increase at X date

If someone “knows” that a coin is going to double, triple, quadruple, or all three, why would they let you know. What purpose do they have by letting others know when the price will increase. Why would someone let you know these things — what do they plan to gain.

If someonw knew Bitcoin was going to reach $100,000 by the end of 2021, they would not tell you; it just doesn’t make sense to. People need other people to make money — someone has to lose for the other to gain. Someone has to hold these bags.

  1. lol… I tried to tell people to buy bitcoin at $20 in 2012… I really wanted to help them and to make them rich. I was already fully invested, so why not let them in on it?

And all they did was laugh at me -_-

  2. They let you know because if you buy it helps fulfill the prediction? Once you own something of course you should predict great gains ahead.

  3. It actually does make sense to tell people. Even if I knew Bitcoin was going up, I still only have X amount to invest. Them buying in too wouldn’t harm me in any way.

The main benefit would be in the cred you would gain from being right. For a large majority of people, having people know who you are is even more important than wealth. For example, a big reason why the show Shark Tank exists isn’t to make money for the investors but to help them build fame. Essentially nobody knew who Kevin O’Leary was before the show, now even some Soccer Moms recognize him.

? Telling people increases chances of those people buying in, ultimately pushing the price up.

  5. If I knew a coin would increase a predetermined X on a predetermined date, I’d take every loan, reverse mortgage, steal, borrow, and save every penny I could to invest at the maximal time.

    But nobody knows anything.
