Just a Reminder that Coinbase CEO is a Lying Scumbag

An interesting thread, where Armstrange tries to brag about their marketing prowress for their QR commercial, stating that no ad agency would’ve ever done that. Only to get dunked on by the ad agency that actually did create and make that commercial happen for Coinbase.

Straight, up, lied. Just remember that when this dude proffers statements like: “We’d like to list [it], but the calculus of regulatory inside baseball prevents us.” Even as Kraken has listed [it] for years.

  1. If he keeps this up, he’s going to lose all of credibility amongst the CEO community. I mean they’re all such standup folks and all…

  2. Looks like his dumb ass should stay off Twitter 🤣 CB is pretty shitty – listing some more obscure coins while some established ones still don’t make the list

  3. Listen. Coinbase offers a conveniant, easy, quick service with a great cash back card/interest/rewards. As long as the ceo doesn’t start siphoning blood from the youth and innocent like Peter “dracula” thiel, I honestly don’t give a fuck what he says on twitter of all places… This all seems like senseless noise because its trendy to hate on CEX’s now. At the end of the day, I control my crypto and can move the bulk of it off of coinbase, while still buying/selling my smaller positions. I really dont see the issue with coinbase, and you couldnt pay me to use binance, robinhood, crypto.com, or really any exchange that is based out of my country (that isnt robinhood). Kraken is great, but let’s face it. You just can’t beat ACH transfers and interest accruing debit cards (its the better financial decision). I do like their service and interface, their customer service, their transparency etc. Kraken is *clean* and honest; i probably trust them the most as a crypto product. But as far as I know, there are still many limits onto how I can move my money on and off their platform. I’m not ruling them out, I may very well use them in the future. That honestly depends on what changes Kraken makes in the future.

No, you guys have it ridiculously backwards.
The most unprofessional thing that happened here was the ad agency rep not being able to resist swinging his dick in that thread.
They were paid for fucking **marketing**, this ‘straight up lie’ is part of that marketing. CB is going to sue the fuck out of that company and win.

  5. How dare they not give the agency credit for… *checks notes* stealing a DVD screensaver and pitching it as a super bowl commercial.

  6. Seems like he thought it was an internal concept and probably it was pitched to him as such. CMO branding the work as her own. It’s normal.

  7. Honestly Coinbase is the shittiest exchange I have ever used, I guess the only reason it’s used is because US people don’t get the decent exchanges there.

  8. Did anybody watch “Downfall” on Netflix? It shows the CEO for Boeing during the 737 Max saga to be a sociopathic, lying shit bag who willfully obscured from pilots knowledge of the plane’s propensity to nosedive into the ground. And, he still received a $65M golden parachute on his way out.

  10. Compliance is all about risk and different companies choose to take on different amounts of risk when it comes to setting their compliance policies. There’s a lot of grey area when it comes to fincen regulations. Coinbase choosing not to list a certain coin based on the compliance risks isn’t some grand conspiracy theory. It’s just a business decision.

  11. Just a reminder that the Kraken CEO equated being against the anti-mandate protest in Canada with being pro rape. Everyone has their flaws.
