If you are new to crypto and are using Coinbase you should to switch buying/selling on Coinbase Pro.

#Edit: Advanced Trading (with low fees) on Coinbase is in beta and not available currently for the Coinbase mobile app. If you’re using the mobile app to buy/sell all of this still applies. Please stop responding about lower fees for the mobile app on coinbase this isn’t true. I left op a comment and asked him to update his post.

Edit 2

Since people aren’t checking it for themselves

Cb __app__ has a significantly higher spread fee making you buy btc $600 above current price ~~+2%~~ +a higher fee for all purchases $200 or less.

Buying .00108424 btc

on CB $50

On CB Pro $47.53

——————

A side effect from the Coinbase site going down is the Ad went viral and it’s attracting a lot of new attention to the company.

Coinbase is currently #2 of all free apps on the apple App Store. CB Pro isn’t even in the top 200 and is #97 of all Finance apps.

——————

Why should you switch? __Despite the name Pro__ there are no additional costs or knowledge requirements to use CB Pro. In addition to the extra features like order book info CB Pro fees are significantly lower.

If you prefer the look of the Coinbase app, that’s ok. Buy on CB Pro and transfer your crypto for FREE to the Coinbase platform. When the time comes you can switch your crypto back to CB Pro for free to sell cheaper as well.

TLDR: If you didn’t know use CB Pro not CB to buy/sell crypto.

  1. I just hate that CB pro doesn’t display your tax info the same as regular Coinbase. Or at least have my CB pro transactions on Coinbase tax info also. It can’t be that hard.

  2. Wait, does someone know of this also goes for Kraken and Kraken pro?

I’ve been using kraken to buy assets but found when placing a limit order on kraken pro you only pay around 10% of the fees. Never even thought of trying a market order on pro but I suspect the fees would be around the same as the limit order.

  4. The only thing I wish CB Pro had was the portfolio performance chart. Right now I have been buying on CB Pro, and then move into CB, just so I can see my graph.

  5. Every time someone has to remind new comers to us CBpro It feels like we ascending. Now that people are seeing Lebron,Tom Brady, Larry David, in crypto adds on the worlds biggest stage they will understand this will be apart of the future going forward, and it may be time to consider taking a position in this asset class for a long term investment.

  6. I think CB is one of the only exchanges actually listed as a stock…that gives it more credibility in my mind. Disclaimer…I own 6 shares of Coinbase..in in for the long haul!

  7. Get off Coinbase altogether. Move to Kraken.

Until I figure out a better way I’m using CB Pro to on ramp fiat, convert to crypto, then move off CB Pro to another exchange and convert again.

I like Kraken specifically because of their web ui. And because they’re US based.

  8. You should switch over to Kraken Pro because the fees are lower, customer service is better, and they publicly audit their holdings.

  9. True statement here, CB Pro fees are much lower than regular Coinbase. I use regular Coinbase for the Learn and earn and for their Charts.

  10. Best advice ever. I lost a bit of money using CB compared to CB Pro.

Another option is buying USDC in CB and moving to CB Pro. I convert to USD, buy crypto, and send back to CB for staking.

  11. The biggest downfall with Coinbase Pro is that it doesn’t offer forms for taxes. I had to spend hundreds of dollars to purchase some crypto software to input my Coinbase Pro API key to track everything for taxes.

  12. Didn’t Coinbase just update the fees of their main site to be the same as Pro now? After that whole “advanced trading” update?
