Hello r/cryptocurrency, we’re OEC, an EVM full-compatible public chain backed by OKX(a.k.a OKEx) to land large-scale digital assets and dApps. Ask us anything about OEC.

We’re very excited to have our first AMA in the [r/cryptocurrency]( community here on Reddit. And for those who never heard about us, OEC is a public permissionless blockchain that no one fully controls. Anyone can create projects and use applications from anywhere in the world. OEC fully opened to all developers on July 28th, 2021, so we’re a pretty young public chain, but since the start, OEC has been developing a revolution in the Metaverse, NFTs and DeFi!

**The AMA will begin at 8 pm(EST) on February 24th, 2022**, but the thread will now open for questions.

**Joining us for this AMA will be:**

* Chai (OEC Ecosystem Core Developer) – [u/cainode](
* James (OEC Community Manager)-[u/uladjula](
* Skyler (OEC Marketing Manager)-[u/greenmugwithtea](
* Albina (OEC Communications Manager) -[u/LessTwo6836](

**You can ask us anything!**

**In addition to the AMA, we’ll airdrop $OKT to the best 20 questions!**

All you have to do is:

* Ask your questions in this AMA thread & wait for them to be answered. After the AMA session, we will announce the best 20 from all answered questions.
* Best 20 will be required to install **MetaX** wallet and provide an **OEC address**.
* Reward distribution: rewards will be issued to your OEC address within 15 working days after the AMA ends.

**MetaX browser extension is currently available to download in both** [**Chrome**]( **and** [**Firefox**](

  1. off topic but important: Did you fix Monero “network” and “wallet” issues?

    I think the withdrawals were suspended for almost a year?

    I know this is off topic, but trust issues remain nonetheless.

    To clarify I think it is morally unacceptable for anyone to use your services until you do Proof of reserves for Monero on OKEx and allow withdrawals. I know it might not be part of the OEC team problem and I’m sure we will let everyone know how long your issues last and I’m sure the blockchain cannot last long if a simple “wallet” issue lasts for a year.

    Also, in case you only have paper Monero and no real XMR, how do you plan to repay your customers?

  2. Do you have a plan for a cross chain bridge and if so how do you plan to mitigate the security issues that we’ve seen in the past few months on other bridges?

  3. 99.9% of metaverse projects are money created after facebook got them trending as they tried to pivot away from giant privacy issues. Nobody is going to want to spend their days in virtual worlds, especially ones that mainly all look like a poor nintendo wii game. Confirm or deny???

    Could you go into more detail as to what OEC has done or will do to specifically advance the three areas of application that you’ve listed here?

    Also, are the dApps only metaverse related or do you guys have something big planned in DeFi or a decentralised exchange ?

    Will these dApps have user friendly UI (huge problem for web3) ?

  7. I’m interested about decentralization in this new blockchain. How validators are chosen? Is it possible to stake coins and get rewards?

  9. Can you point out a few great features of ” OEC” that will set it apart from other competitors? What competitive advantage of ” OEC” makes you confident you will outperform rival platforms?

  10. Did OEC consider community feedback/requests during the creation of your product in order to expand on fresh ideas for your project? Many projects fail because the target audience and clients are not understood. So I’d like to know who your ideal consumer is for your product?

  11. There are already a lot of EVM chains that are supposedly built to help or solve the current scalability issues with ETH. What makes you different from other EVM chains, for example, in terms of the blockchain trilemma, i.e. security, decentralization and scalability, or any other areas? Thanks!
