Coinbase made a huge mistake allowing “reviews.”

Anyone else noticed how pointless and stupid the “review” system is? Why the hell would you create the ability for people to review a shitcoin? Get on your CB mobile app and look yourself at how stupid and pointless the “reviews” are. All the reviews seem to be are people posting rocketship emojis and outright lying and saying whatever to get a bag pumped. It’s like discord groups pick a crypto (as we already know they do) to pump but now the process is on crack bc they can post “reviews” and verbalize the process to try and get innocent people to buy in. It’s toxic as hell and makes the company look terrible. Like wtf CB!

  1. The few I glanced at gave me the impression they were basically useless to me and dangerous to those who might be new and not realize a lot were written by bag holders. I also saw reviews from angry investors who bought in towards the top. I didn’t read a ton but I did glance at reviews for 2 or 3 coins and so far I would agree this doesn’t look great for CB or for crypto. Maybe TD Ameritrade will allow people to review their stocks 😆

  2. I have never seen coinbase look so degenerate, i love it. Almost every review is just a rating with a free shitpost.

  3. Yeah I don’t think this has anything to do with Coinbase the exchange and more like someone wanting to raise their mobile app KPI metrics.

Who gives a shit if the reviews are pointless if someone can go “Look at our MAUs”

  4. This is kinda why I stopped messing with Coinbase. They were promoting that they were gunna implement it months ago. I hope people don’t just read “reviews” and do their own research. All in all tho, I am pretty sure they may “disable” it so they can fix it…Weebull did the same thing lol.

  5. Reminds of the text board that CoinMarketcap has. It’s either mostly bots or people that are so simple they sound like bots

  6. This needs to be removed quick. Seriously. This needs to get to them somehow, nothing good comes out of these reviews.

  8. So Bitcoin is currently rated at 3.9/5 with most people using it as an excuse to shitpost or complain about coinbase.

Meanwhile shitcoins like SafeMoon are sitting at a healthy 4.7/5 because their cult following is inflating the numbers.

    Seems like it’s working well.

  9. Same with CoinMarketCap and their diamonds. To earn diamonds you go and recommend certain crypto and give price predictions… Totally not a great opportunity for people to go shit on certain coins for no reason or use bots to manipulate ratings and predictions.

  10. The review system can work if they only allow people to post reviews if they disclose their PNL on that coin. Then we can know their standings before seeing their review.

Moreover, Coinbase is an exchange. There is now way people are going to be review the projects for its fundamentals or white paper or updates. It will only be on profits and pumps

  11. It may be terrible, but there is a cognitive bias,
People while DYORing (especially new investors) also may give a small weightage to a coin’s reviews. Just to see what the general sentiment is.

Not saying that this is value additive, but its just a thought.
