  1. > Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland said banks can immediately freeze or suspend bank accounts without a court order and without fear of civil liability.

Freezing bank accounts without courts and oversight? If any country located outside of Western Europe or North America did something like that there would probably be sanctions.

  2. Saying quite a few things here while doing the exact opposite, a lot to digest.

Gives more power to the police to disperse protesters bud says he still believes it’s peoples right to protest.
Gives financial institutions to ability to stop funds, which should scare everyone one, not just the crypto community.
And now all of a sudden crypto currency is an issue because it’s potentially being used to fund protesters? Citing anti money laundering and counter terrorism financing rules?

Seems like they’ve found a way to use the protest to their advantage.

  3. The SEC in America just ruled to cancel block fi interest accounts. May need to look to move. Totally ok for them to print money and inflate the currency but don’t allow people out of the banking system. Every fiat currency around the world is garbage. More bullish on btc

  4. This will only encourage more people to get into crypto. This illustrates exactly how gov, banks, and fiat is used to oppress their own people. Beyond sickening when oppression is accepted and championed. Anyone with even an ounce of self preservation should take pause and at least consider the situation of being basically a financial prisoner in a political system and how that might affect their lives or the lives of their children.

  5. I find it hilarious that certain sections of the population scream “AuThOrItArIaN!!1” when ppl they don’t like are in power, then the second actual authoritarian policies are enacted (as has happened here), they rationalize it or totally go silent on the subject.

  6. This should scare everyone. If you have kept up with this at all you can clearly see these people are not “terrorists”
Yo, parking trucks and honking has disrupted the whole system, and the Canadian government is calling them TERRORISTS and trying to convince the world as such. You guys and gals need to pay close attention to what is going to happen over the next few days..

  7. Another liberal seizing at any power they can.

Shit like this makes me realize how we don’t truly Own anything government can fucking seize everything and if they can’t seize crypto they will seize your phone/PC ability to access it or sell it.

  8. If Trudeau gets away with it, you can bet that other like minded politicians in other so called Democracies will look for ways to do the same within their government framework. Not meant to be political, I say this because if this works, it could very well be the tip of the iceberg for centralized control of crypto in many countries.

this validates the dangers of fiat that crypto advocates have been speaking of for over a decade. why leftists want to ban crypto so much

  10. Off ramp was always going to be an issue until crypto is more massively adopted and govs accept as tender… only other thing would be to buy pre-paid credit cards or something in small increments over many vendors. Cash was easier to move, digital money regardless is fraught with censorship.
