The Trudeau government in Canada today enacted the emergencies powers act to allow banks to freeze the assets of anyone donating to the trucker protest.
The deputy prime minister also said they will be cracking down on crowdfunding and digital payments including crypto currencies.
This act hasn’t been invoked in 50 years when it was called the war measures act and the trudeau government is coming after your assets if you are protesting or against his government.
elections have consequences
Are there any Canadians here? What’s the general sentiment of the Canadian population on the protestors?
Don’t we have a privacy coin for this problem?
THE HONKENING
Guys ….ditch the identity politics. Just look at this for what it is, a grab for more power and control over your lives. The terrorist financing act and the Patriot act are both bs they use to invade your privacy and control your life.
This is like poking a stick at a hornets nest !
MONERO
I am not on either side, EU here.
But making such a decision can have harsh consequences. This just seems like a really bad decision.
Now mind you, I don’t live there. I am likely wrong and this was good.
It just seems like an extremely radical decision to go down this hard against will of the people. Both truckers and people donating.
So what does this mean for someone like me holding crypto in canada
Canadians, amongst yourselves what’s the sentiment towards Trudeau now?
I’ve never been so ashamed to be a Canadian.
trudeau is a failure.
Canada really barking up the wrong tree
“ReGuLaTiOn Is GoOd!”
-you know who you are
The Canadian government are terrorists and oppressors
Yeah, it’s called being tyrannical. Next, your internet feed will be filtered so you don’t get “fake news”.
Fun fact, the last person who enacted it was Trudeau’s father.
Sounds like Mr Trudeau has taken a lesson from the CCP in Hong Kong…
I wonder what they plan to do about crypto.
Lol gg
This titled is very misleading. They are not regulating crowdfunding platforms and cryptocurrency…
War measures against your own citizens.
Burn down cities. Dont honk horns. Damn
Isn’t True North Centre some sort of far right media company?
Interesting info on them: https://canucklaw.ca/the-origins-of-true-north-canada-which-its-founder-hides/
Though, linking to a twitter post should already be a red flag. The regulations do need to be updated though. They aren’t going after “a protestors assets”, they are going after foreign funding to some extremist groups. Which…. by the way, doesn’t include ALL of the protestors.
Politicized FUD post.
Funny thing is that he got less votes than the Conservatives in the last election.
So I’m good as long as I don’t fund terrorism. Cool.
Do not vote Trudeau or the Libs next election. Simple.
fuck government they don’t care about us
Things are getting ridiculous. Antifa and blm literally setting fires to cities. Ok. Truckers blowing horns. Terrorists. 🤦🏼

Damn Canada sounds like a nightmare of a place the more I hear about it
Expect the US EO to be the same
>the trudeau government is coming after your assets if you are protesting or against his government.
Isn’t it because the truckers are illegally shutting down the biggest boarder crossings of the entirety of Canada/USA? And not simply because of “protesting or against his government?”
Just showing the world the fascist he always was.
Trudeau is showing his real colors. Authoritarian piece of shit
Edit: the downvotes are showing the true colors of some of you too, effing tyrants
THIS is worth protesting by itself!
Would you write this if people in Canana started funding isis or some shit? Probably not, your post is totally biased and not related to crypto.
Bullish on moose knuckle.
I find it ridiculous the amount of Americans crying about the money/crypto being shutdown to protesters… it is largely foreign donations (mostly USA) looking to stir up civil unrest. Americans would lose their minds if largely foreign money was donating to some group of ‘protesters’ 🤦🏻♀️
And they called Trump a fascist. Time to move some more funds into DeFi and/or cold storage.
