Welcome to Lisa and Jeremy's photo journal of their recent trip to Alaska - July 18-29, 2006.
Information for fellow Edgerton Travelers:
Photos are avaialble for download or purchase from Yahoo and Snapfish.
I had problems loading the photos on yahoo, so a lot of them are out of order and there are duplicates and possibly some missing. Note if you print any photos, I recommend Matte finish for the best look.
To view the photos, either:
- click on the photo to go to yahoo photos
- click on the link to go to Snapfish
if you choose snapfish, you must create a FREE account to view the photos.
I don't receive or ask for any commission for my photos, but if you think from the photos below you would like to use Snapfish to view or order prints, if you would be so kind, you could email me in advance and if I refer you, I get a few free pictures. (you would get a referral email from me and click that link to sign-up.) That's up to you!
To copy photos from the internet:
- view the photo you want so that you are seeing only that photo on the screen and it's the largest you can make it.
- right click on the photo
- select "save picture as" and click OK
- name the photo and navigate to where you want to store the photo
- click OK
To purchase photos:
Yahoo photos cost 15 cents per 4x6 print to have them mailed to your house or about 20 cents per print if your nearest Target has a photo lab which can be sent to their 1-hour photo. Again you must set up a FREE account to purchase photos.
Snapfish on the other hand costs 12 cents per print, but I have uploaded smaller file sizes so if you want a poster sized print of anything, let me know which # and I can send you or upload the original file. This file resolution should be fine for a 4x6 print. Also, snapfish allows 19 cent per photo pick up at participating Walgreens one-hour photo.
The downside of Snapfish is that you have to create an account to VIEW the photos, but if you plan to purchse some then I recommend you do that since you will have to do that for Yahoo as well. If you just want to have a quick look without making an account then click on the photos below and that will take you to the yahoo photo albums.
Click on the Snapfish links to view the Snapfish version.
Your first few prints for FREE ...
10 free from Yahoo or
20 free from Snapfish after your first UPLOAD - so you need to upload at least ONE .jpg file to make this offer work, otherwise I think you just get 3 free photos. Let me know if you need help.
Enjoy!!
Jeremy and Lisa took about 2000 photos in total. This first album contains the "Top 200" picks of Lisa's photos from the entire journey.

We departed our 4-day cruise aboard the Ms. Volendam in Skagway where we spent a few hours in this rustic town shopping and grabbing lunch before boarding the White Pass train into the Yukon. click above photo for Yahoo Album

This segment of photos starts with the Whitecross Rail train ride from Skagway into the Yukon Territory. Our next stop was Carcross, Yukon shown in the above photo, passing by Emerald Lake and then on to Whitehorse. click above photo for Yahoo Album
On this scenic drive from Whitehorse to Beaver Creek we stopped along the way to spot for Dall Sheep on a tall hilltop and see this beautiful glacial lake. The mountain views were incredible. We also began to see smoke from the forest fire near Beaver Creek as we approached. click above photo for Yahoo Album

Along the way we saw a couple of moose. This mother moose was grazing with her two twin babies along side of the road near Fairbanks. click above photo for Yahoo Album

A Houseboat seen on our boat ride along the Chena River. This album includes photos from our stop along the river to learn more about Alaskan native culture, including
photos of the working dogs. Some sled dogs are pictured below.

A view of the Hilton Hotel we stayed at from downtown Anchorage. We wandered down to the river by the train depot as recommended by Greg (a little late as it was just after the midnight sunset) and found a fisherman who had just caught a King Salmon and was heading home. He said the fisherman are limited to 3 salmon a day.

This album captures some of my favoite photos. Portage glacier and the animal refuge where I got great shots of the 3 "little" grizzly bears who live there along with a few other resident animals.
